Thick clumps of snow cling to a fir tree in the foreground of a remote snowy landscape, but the scene is cheerful with the piercing blue sky and dappled sunlight catching the pure snow.
Inspired by the Canadian "Group of Seven" painters, I wanted to capture the grandeur and beauty of remote locations, untouched by human hand (or foot!)
There are 5 colours in this limited edition of 10 original prints: the white of the paper, pale yellow, a greyish blue, a bright blue and a very dark green. Each colour is separately carved and printed so that eventually the lino block is almost destroyed - hence the term "reduction" print.
